The End of Vienna and back to Salzburg

Trying to sneek in a tiny bit of extra time in Vienna before hitting the road again we went for an early morning trip once again back to the Burg to the Spanish riding School to watch their morning exercise.

The famous white Lipanzer horses (bred in Slovenia originally are all highly trained dressage horses that parade around for 2 ½ hours every morning to classical music by Viennese greats, Strass, Beethoven and of course Mozart. Once again no photography was alloed but we were most impressed by elegant show arena with its crystal chandeliers (compulsory in Vienna). Dave was disappointed the horses didn’t do any jumps or 2 legged stands that they had on all of the pictures but admired them all the same. To tell you the truth I think he was most impressed by the giant circular horse treadmill outside for warm ups and cool downs for the horses.

Now completely finished our Viennese sightseeing we headed off to arrive once again at our trip favourite – Salzburg!

We checked into the same camping ground we had used last time – Camping Panorama and bused it into the town to meet Belinda and Rob an Aussie couple we had met all the way back in Florence at the Augustiner Brauhaus.
Dinner #2 at Zum Wildermann

After a few masses we made our way down into the old town to revisit the food legend of our trip – Zum Wildermann. Let me tell you it did not disappoint and is still our favourite place so far on the trip.

Not wanting to stay out too late, so we could get an early start on the road to Munich the next morning we headed back for bed.

Did i say we went home for a quiet night in?
